It is considered to be one of the most painful conditions, Slip Disc is a condition in which the inner fluid of the intervertebral disc oozes out. Slip disc is very painful and discomforting. It results in terrible pain and numbness which makes it difficult for the individual to put any kind of pressure on the back.

Spinal Problems can include pain in the spine, scoliosis, osteoarthritic and associated conditions. These conditions render injury or damage the spine in some form and therefore, have an effect on the back and the lower parts of the body.

You must be thinking about what fluid we’re talking about here. So let us briefly talk about what exactly a slipped disc is and also about the spine.

The Spine and Slipped disc

Our back is composed of a long vertical structure made out of bones which give our back its curved, yet erect structure. This is attributed to the intervertebral discs which are responsible for holding together different vertebrae which are hollow bones, together in a definite structure.

These hollow vertebrae have inside their cavity, long thread-like structures running along the length and this is what we call the spine. The spine is responsible for balancing the load on the brain and just splits its work.

The intervertebral discs holding the vertebrae together are ligaments, divided into 2 parts. The outer portion is hard and bony while the inner being gel-like. This gel-like portion when leaks out of the disc, spreads outside the vertebrae, and this condition is called a Slipped Disc.

Since this portion of the disc is responsible for keeping it steady and absorbing any form of stress subjected to it, slipped disc is associated with pain. Other symptoms of slipped disc are a stiff neck, pain in the arm, legs, back; numbness in the legs, muscle weakness, spasms.

Spinal problems on the other hand cover a large area of condition, such as Cervical Spondylosis, Spinal Stenosis, Osteoarthritis, Spinal Cord Injury, Tumour, etc. In fact, slipped disc is also a part of spinal problems.We’ve discussed what it is and now its time to talk about the treatment associated with them;
