Posture assessment and correction program

The Posture Assessment is how we maintain our body structure while doing regular activities or just sitting and standing.

It is famously said that your posture reflects your personality and creates an impression on every person you meet. Because it doesn’t just serve this one purpose, it is also essential for your health.

A Good Posture, in turn, improves and strengthens your core and muscles. A Bad Posture can lead to permanent repercussions to such as pain and dysfunction, but a good posture will only make you more healthy and fit.

No matter if your moving or stationary, Posture plays a vital role and the spine is a major part of your body that is responsible for your posture.

Let us first look into the benefits that good posture brings about

● Makes your muscles more flexible.
● Helps to prevent muscle ache which could be because of fatigue.
● Distributes the strain evenly, thereby, reducing excess strain on the spine.

‘How?’ is the immediate question that must’ve popped on your mind and the answer is right here;

I. Sitting Posture:
➢ Make sure that your back is completely touching the back of your chair and put all your body weight on it, without slouching in the front.
➢ Don’t stay in the same sitting position for a longer time, keep changing it after every 30 minutes or so.
➢ Keep your knees bent at 90° and avoid crossing your legs.
➢ Distribute your body weight evenly on your buttocks and your spine, making sure that both your buttocks are evenly placed on the surface.
➢ Your feet are supposed to lay flat on the surface.
➢ Stretch your muscles now and then.
➢ Drop your shoulders down and hold them back.
➢ Before standing up, shift a little forward and get up without bending your spine forwards.

II. Standing Posture:
➢ Do not tilt your head down, chin parallel to the floor. Let your feet be at hip width distance.
➢ Straighten your back
➢ Let your feet be distanced around your shoulder width.
➢ Make sure your upper back is not slouching and shoulders are pinched back.
➢ Pull in your stomach.
➢ Don’t elevate your arms and let them hang freely by your side.

We know it can be difficult to be alert all the time, nevertheless, it is important for you to be conscious of your posture always, in order to have a fit body.
